ZSL Whipsnade Zoo Butterfly House

Easter eggs with bite!
Keepers at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo are about to get egg-xactly what they’ve been waiting for, as the Zoo’s only female crocodile prepares to lay eggs.
Amara and Kojo, the Zoo’s two 39 year old West African dwarf crocodiles last produced offspring in 1998, but on Christmas Eve 2015 the pair were seen mating, and now, according to keepers, female crocodile Amara is showing all the signs of being about to lay eggs, just in time for Easter. Once Amara has laid her eggs, there will be a three-month wait before they hatch, amazing timing for the launch of Zoorassic Park, this summer’s huge dinosaur experience here at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo!
