Whittard of Chelsea: Upcoming Programme Changes

We are contacting you to make you aware of some big upcoming changes to the Whittard of Chelsea program which will come into effect over the course of the next month and into May 2013.


New Commission Structure:

We have been reviewing our commission structure to ensure we’re offering a structure that works both for us and our affiliates. Going forward we have decided to move from a flat commission rate to a commission structure which includes commission level groups to target different customer types including New & Return, Cashback and Loyalty.


New customers are incredibly valuable to Whittard, and as a brand we are always striving to reach new people & territories. We therefore think it’s important to keep the 10% commission level on all conversions from New incentivised traffic. Whilst existing customers are also paramount to our business, and we still want you to help drive these customers to us, they are already engaged with our brand & we are always offering these customers incentives to maintain their interest– therefore we have decided to reduce Return Customer commission to 8%.


We will also be reducing Cashback & Loyalty affiliate commission to 8%. This decision is based on industry standards, competitor commission levels and on the basis that we will then have some room to play with in order to incentive their customers periodically & create demand.


From the 5th May 2013 all publishers will revert to this new commission strategy.


It is important for all affiliates to be aware that this reduction in commission will enable Whittard to have increased scope on offering, on a case by case basis, private commission increases in return for additional coverage during key periods. This enables us as a merchant to be able to reward each individual affiliate more effectively, based upon their own merits and contribution to the program.


New Optimized Product Feeds:


We are really pleased to announce our new partnership with Intelligent Reach who will be working with Whittard to ensure we have the most optimized feeds possible for our affiliate program. The new feeds should come into effect from this week and will offer affiliates the ability to create the best possible campaigns to assist in driving increased conversions and as a result, increased commission. The migration to the new feeds will happen automatically within the Awin back office system and should not cause any disruption.


A4U Awards:


We’d also like to draw all affiliates attention some good news! The Whittard of Chelsea/UK Affiliate Window program has been shortlisted to receive an award for ‘Best in brand Engagement’ at the A4U Awards this May. We are really pleased to have been nominated and would like to thank all affiliates for helping us reach our goals. The Whittard program has grown substantially in the last 12 months and we have built some fantastic working relationships. We will be there on the 7th May and look forward to seeing everybody on the night!


For any affiliate who mentions a commission/cashback value on their website, please make amendments to your website to reflect the commission changes highlighted above.
