Warm up with designer rugs from MADE.COM

This week I wanted to tell you about some new designer rugs that not only are pieces of art in their own right but a perfect way to warm up bare floors. Hand crafted by artisans in India from the finest New Zealand wool, whether you go bold in colour or bold in print, these rugs will tie your look together and give it the perfect finishing touch.

First up, the contrasting shapes, tones and textures give the Arc collection by Lindsay Lang an almost 3D feel. Balancing graphic elements and neutral colour schemes, they’re high-impact pieces that will keep their classic appeal for years to come. Lindsey almost chose a career in sport instead of design. Lucky for us, she decided to train first as a fine artist and later set up her own design studio. Her signature bold, graphic lines and contrasting colours have turned influential heads too - from Dulux to Elle Deco.

Our second designer, Richard Caldicott, was inspired by the transformation of regular household objects into something bold and striking. And after his signature treatment, it's hard to imagine that the design for the Abstraction rug started off as a plastic food container!

Richard’s been exhibited internationally for over 25 years, so he’s no stranger to success. His abstract minimalist themes have caught the eye of a few famous names too – with pieces in the private collections of Sir Elton John and George Michael.

2) The Arc Rug in grey – only £299 (£450 typical high street price)

Lang plays with texture as well as colour and shapes, choosing different methods of tufting to add a 3D element to the design.

3) The Abstraction 2001 rug in red – only £89 (£130 typical high street price)

Digitally printed onto canvas to bring out the rich, over-saturated colours - also collected by Sir Elton John and George Michael.
