A Christmas Carol
Actor Chris Cade brings to life this Dickens’ classic. Scrooge meets the unusual Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come, but will he repent in time for Christmas, or is Scrooge doomed to a life of misery? This performance takes us through Dickens' classic novel and makes it easily accessible for young and old alike. Wrap up warm and sample English Heritage’s own range of liqueurs and seasonal treats too.

A Dramatic Origin Weekend
To celebrate the 155th anniversary of the publication of 'On the Origin of Species' join us as the Down House staff get theatrical and re-create the reaction to the shocking literature! The famous 'Oxford Debate' between the Bishop of Oxford (Samuel Wilberforce) and Thomas Huxley is a pivotal moment in history and will be dramatically recreated - expect great shock and controversy, fainting women and plenty of laughs as you're transported back to Victorian times to see what immediate impact the publication had! The performance lasts approximately 40 minutes. We are sorry but there is no wheelchair access to the performance.

A Natural Christmas: Decoration making plus gifts inspired by nature
See how Victorian house staff would have celebrated Christmas and join us in the Butler's Pantry of Down House for festive craft making using natural foliage found in the garden. From winter stems, to holly and pine cones, weave your magic as we help you create small seasonal items for your home. Festive refreshments will be available.

Behind-the-Scenes Tours
Spend a day with our site staff as they take you on an 'access all areas' tour which will explore parts of the Court seldom open to visitors. Lunch is included. Over 16s only.

British Sign Language Tour
Come and find out about the fascinating stories of Kenwood House and its beautiful art collections with guest speaker John Wilson. The tour will be led in British Sign Language with interpretation into English. Places are limited so please email kenwood.audiences@english-heritage.org.uk to reserve your place. The tour is available free for deaf audiences but places must be booked.

Carol Concert
Join in the Christmas celebrations at Audley End with carols sung in the stunning surroundings of the Great Hall. A glass of wine or soft drink is included in the ticket price.
