St George's Day at Baker Ross
St. George’s Day is a red-letter day in the English calendar and it’s an important time for budding young artists too there are so many St. George’s Day crafts to make! St. George’s Day decorations look great in classrooms and living rooms – the red and white of the St. George’s Day flag is such a classic colour scheme.
Shields, swords and visors are fantastic to make and decorate with acrylic pens and paints – don’t forget to add jewels for a shiny finish. Role play involving dressing as St. George or the fair maiden he rescued can really breathe life into classroom projects about England’s dragon-battling patron saint.
Learning about history and myths while making art is such good fun – what better time to pick up a great English artistic hobby than in the run-up to our national day?
