For Pre Spring ’14, GANT by Michael Bastian takes inspiration from the American Studio Photographer, Mike Disfarmer. What he documented in his photos serves not only as a record of how people looked and dressed in the 1930s and 40s in rural America, but captures a moment in time when the country was caught between two wars and trying to rebuild its identity.
