Rioja Rosado, Bodegas Muga
A blend of Garnacha, Viura and Tempranillo, the new release has a beautiful strawberry colour this year, followed by a wonderfully ripe, inviting nose of ripe apricot and peach, then a fresh, fruit-filled palate of fresh raspberry and strawberry fruit, with an elegant mineral note. Delicious (as always!); great with or without food.

Tempranillo ripened under the protection of the Sierra Cantabria mountains, from very old vines, with twelve months barrel maturation prior to release. An irresistible Rioja combination of fresh cherry and blackberry fruit and violet notes, with cinnamon and clove spice on the finish.

Gundian Albarino, Adega Valdes
We just love this wine - it has sufficient body but doesn't feel heavy; the nose is an enticing combination of ripe peach, stone fruits and zippy minerality. The palate is clean, balanced and fresh and this continues through on the finish making it an ideal summer wine and particularly good with seafood. Bravo the Familia Valdes, this is really good, honest Albariño.

Ribera del Duero Tinto Barrica, Paramo De Guzman
This is an excellent buy; the quality of the fruit is top drawer and the winemaking is as clean as a whistle which allows the natural minerality of the regions to shine through. They allow the wine to spend 6 months in new French and American oak to give added structure so this shares many characteristics of a crianza once opened. The nose is very pure and the palate concentrated; whilst the powerful tannins dominate at first these fade to provide a lovely mouthfeel and balance once the wine has breathed a while. Spicy, smooth, and highly recommended.
