Pinot Bianco, Cantina Terlano

The Pinot Bianco benefits from the coolness of vineyards between 300-600 m on free draining and warm sand and gravel soils. Six months ageing on the fine lees adds complexity and length to this orchard fruit apples and pears scented wine. In 2006 the Pinot Bianco was awarded the honour of best value Italian white by the influential Gambero Rosso guide and this is just as good.

Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Spumante Col dell’Orso, Giovanni Frozza

I have never tasted a Prosecco this dry nor one that so successfully translated its terroir into the glass before. On the nose the floral notes are there, mountain meadows if I was being precise, apples, pears and slight spice too. I was really struck by the clean, minerally layers and acidity that support this nearly bone dry wine.

Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Brut Rive di Colbertaldo, Giovanni Frozza

From a small pocket of the minerally Col dell`Orso vineyard, and is bottled at half the amount of residual sugar (7g/litre versus 14) as its sibling, with a tiny shade less fizz. All the crucnchy pear and crab apple notes are there, with crystalline precision. Just delightful.
