Vigne Nuove Trebbiano, Valle Reale
Whilst we originally only considered the reds from Valle Reale, one taste of this and we were convinced to take their white too! Medium weight with flavours of pear and apple and a soft finish.

Pinot Grigio, Cantina Terlano
From vineyards at between 250-300 m on gravel and sandy clay soils, this is a Pinot Grigio to banish memories of thin, tasteless versions of this wine so often encountered. A fruity bouquet of ripe honeydew melon with a soft, full palate, balanced with a long, clean, fresh finish.

Vigne Nuove Montepulciano, Valle Reale
The ’classic’ wine from this estate and something of a powerhouse. Lovely blueberry, damson and black cherry fruit with tobacco leaf and mineral notes. A great all rounder. The 2006 vintage has won Gambero Rosso’s Maximum Three Glasses - an exceptional achievment.

Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Frizzante Val Mesdi, Giovanni Frozza

Pinot Bianco, Cantina Terlano
The Pinot Bianco benefits from the coolness of vineyards between 300-600 m on free draining and warm sand and gravel soils. Six months ageing on the fine lees adds complexity and length to this orchard fruit apples and pears scented wine. In 2006 the Pinot Bianco was awarded the honour of best value Italian white by the influential Gambero Rosso guide and this is just as good.

Sauvignon Blanc Winkl, Cantina Terlano
A wonderfully elegant example of Sauvignon Blanc, Winkl comes from vines between 300-500 m. Good Sauvignon nose ripe green fruits and elderflower. Fresh, lively palate and a fine minerally finish. Excellent.

An excellent Chianti Classico showing what modern winemaking can achieve when used in conjunction with traditional sensibilities. Intense red cherry fruit with savoury notes, freshening acidity and a well maanged tannins. Very well balanced.

100% Cortese from 30 year-old vines within the Gavi production zone; a touch more concentration and class than most you will have tried. Perfect for antipasti and freshwater fish in particular. Hand-harvested then fermented in stainless steel – an excellent Gavi.

Terlaner Classico, Cantina Terlano
Fascinating blend of 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. Sounds unusual, but works brilliantly as an aromatic, tropical fruit-scented blend. Real complexity, and a long, dry finish.

Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Brut Rive di Colbertaldo, Giovanni Frozza
From a small pocket of the minerally Col dell`Orso vineyard, and is bottled at half the amount of residual sugar (7g/litre versus 14) as its sibling, with a tiny shade less fizz. All the crucnchy pear and crab apple notes are there, with crystalline precision. Just delightful.
