Guide Dogs Week 2014 is taking place from 4-12 October. Last year’s Guide Dogs Week was a spectacular success and, with your support, this year’s going to be even better.
Like last year, we’re asking people to ‘Stand Out For Guide Dogs’. The colour yellow will feature prominently again, the colour of our iconic dog harness, so if you have still got your yellow clothes from last year, you might want to start dusting them off!
We are using Guide Dogs Week to raise awareness of our Forgotten Passengers Report, which highlights the need for audio-visual announcements on buses if people with sight loss are to travel confidently. Look out for the bright yellow Stand Out Bus, which will be touring the country in the month leading up to Guide Dogs Week. There will be a grand finale to the tour in London.
We’ll be asking you to ‘Let’s Glow’ for Guide Dogs – through collections, coffee mornings and a dress down day – all brilliant ways to help raise money and get our message across. There is also going to be a suitably high visibility accessory for sale, and we’ll be using social media and our website to spread the word too.
We really hope you’ll throw yourselves into Guide Dogs Week this year, so that we can help more blind and partially sighted people get out and about on their own terms.
