Findmypast is going global. In the first of many new global
releases, over 55 million transcripts of Mexican baptisms, marriages and
burials spanning 390 years of Mexican history between 1560 and 1950 are now
available to search. These new records were brought to Findmypast through
the International Genealogical Index and will be joined by a wide range of
new collections covering Central America and the Caribbean in the coming

Facts & Finds

Amongst our vast new collection of Mexican transcripts, you
will find a baptism record for José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz Mori. Diaz was
a Mexican general and politician who served seven terms as President of Mexico,
from 1876 to 1880 and from 1884 to 1911. After deposing the French-imposed
Emperor Maximilian in 1867, Diaz and his allies seized power in a coup in
1876 and went on to rule Mexico for the next thirty-five years during a
period known as the Porfiriato.
