Feed Update – Giffgaff SIMO and Handset Accounts

Dear Affiliates,

Thank you so much for your support so far this year, and for your help in spreading the word about Giffgaff. It’s great to have you on board with us. We just wanted to send a quick message in relation to the description of our proposition. This change will be added to the current feed & we’d appreciate it if you can implement this change as soon as possible.

We’re receiving a number of complaints through social media regarding our £20 goodybag. Our members are often surprised when their data speeds are reduced after they’ve used 6 GB of data and this is bad news for both us and you. Customers feel misled by the way our proposition has been described to them and we’d like to make it clearer.

The £20 goodybag is incredibly popular with customers and successful for both us and our partners. To clarify, our £20 goodybag does not offer ‘unlimited’ data. Our proposition is ‘always on’. With always on, every month you receive 6GB of UK data at full 4G speeds. After that customers will still be able to enjoy data, but from 8am to midnight they’ll have a reduced speed (256kbps). Making this distinction is something that we haven’t been entirely clear about before, therefore we’d like to correct this now to ensure that there is no more confusion going forward.

In order to keep this comparable with other networks, we are keeping the underlying data allowance in our feed as ‘UNLIMITED’. However, we have added a friendly description that we would like you to use on the copy visible to your customers. We’d like you to replace the description of ‘unlimited’ with ‘always on’ and we ask that you no longer describe the £20 goodybag as offering unlimited data. We ask that this change is made before April 1st and an audit will be ran W/C 27/03/2017 to check all on-site descriptions have been updated.

Technically, you will need to absorb the friendly description from a new field in our AWIN enhanced feed called ‘custom_8’. You will find details of how to interpret the information here in the developer documentation here: http://awin-docs.s3-website-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/

We’d like to be as open and transparent as possible with our members, and we’d appreciate your support in doing so.

Any questions, feel free to get in touch with us.

Many Thanks,
