60s

60’s: Cropped Trousers -Rising to fame on the Italian island of Capri for which they're named, cropped trousers were the casual wear of choice for girls in the Sixties. As worn by superstars Grace Kelly and Mary Tyler Moore.

70s

70’s: Kimono -A Japanese loose robe, with long wide sleeves tied with a sash. The word Kimono literally means 'a thing to wear', and has now become a staple fashion feature of wardrobes the world over.

80s

80’s: Off the shoulder - Inspired by Brigitte Bardot's legendary style of the ‘50s and ‘60s, the trend for exposed shoulders came back strong in the ‘80s, with dresses, jumpers and tops all coming in single or double open shoulders.

90s

90’s : Checked Shirts - Also known as the flannel shirt, these oversized tops were popularised by Hamilton Carhartt who wanted his clothes to be specially made for the working class. This oversized plaid classic
