Hi Affiliates,

Avoid energy price rises for the next two winters with EDF Energy's Blue + Price Promise.

Households across the country could protect themselves against energy price increases for the next two winters and benefit from one of the cheapest dual fuel deals in Britain by switching to EDF Energy's Blue +Price Promise April 2014.

Blue +Price Promise also comes with no termination fees meaning customers can leave for free if they find a better deal at any point.

The tariff is fixed until April 2014 giving customers worried about their energy bills the peace of mind of knowing they are protected from any increases. EDF Energy will also tell customers if a rival supplier brings out a tariff which could save them £52 a year or more at typical consumption.1

Based on a national average of regional prices at typical consumption, SSE dual fuel standard tariff customers paying by direct debit who switch to Blue +Price Promise April 2014 could save over £200 a year once the company's 9% price increase takes effect on October 15 2. On the same basis, Blue +Price Promise April 2014 costs customers £1,058 a year3. SSE's standard prices are currently £1,172 using the same customer criteria, rising to £1,274 a year with its new prices4.

Martin Lawrence, managing director of energy sourcing and customer supply, said: "Many people will be worried about what will happen to their energy bills this winter following SSE's decision to increase its prices.

"By switching to our Blue +Price Promise April 2014 they not only protect themselves from any price increases for the next two winters but can also take advantage of some of the cheapest prices on the market.

"There are no exit fees so people can leave for free at anytime if they find a better deal. It's a win-win for consumers."

Since the launch of the tariff in April hundreds of thousands of people have signed up to Blue +Price Promise. Blue +Price Promise April 2014 is open to both new and existing EDF Energy customers.

EDF Energy also has the cheapest standard prices amongst the major suppliers and has done for 45 of the previous 52 weeks based on a nationalised average of regional prices for customers paying by direct debit at typical consumption5.

EDF Energy
EDF Energy is one of the UK’s largest energy companies and the largest producer of low-carbon electricity, producing around one-sixth of the nation's electricity from its nuclear power stations, wind farms, coal and gas power stations and combined heat and power plants. The company supplies gas and electricity to more than 5.5 million business and residential customer accounts and is the biggest supplier of electricity by volume in Great Britain.
EDF Energy’s safe and secure operation of its eight existing nuclear power stations at sites across the country makes it the UK’s largest generator of low carbon electricity. EDF Energy is also leading the UK's nuclear renaissance and has published plans to build four new nuclear plants, subject to the right investment framework. These new plants could generate enough low carbon electricity for about 40% of Britain’s homes. They would make an important contribution to the UK’s future needs for clean, secure and affordable energy. The project is already creating business and job opportunities for British companies and workers.
Through Our Sustainability Commitments, EDF Energy has launched one of the biggest environmental and social programmes of any British energy company and the company has since been awarded the highest ranking of Platinum Plus in Business in the Community’s 2011 Corporate Responsibility Index, the UK’s leading voluntary benchmark of corporate responsibility.
EDF is an official partner and the electricity supplier of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The company is also helping its customers and others use energy more sustainably through products and initiatives such as Team Green Britain, real time energy monitoring and electric vehicle research.
EDF Energy is part of EDF Group, one of Europe’s largest power companies. The company employs around 15,000 people at locations across the UK.
