E-Lites - Team E-Lites Kawasaki Victorious
The venue at the weekend was Thruxton, one of Britain's most historic race circuits, the circuit is the fastest in the UK and any rider relishes victory here. Tim Hastings did just that taking first place as Team E-Lites Kawasaki enjoyed their most successful day of racing since they began backing the team.
The signs were good following qualifying on Friday which saw Tim take pole position by less than a tenth of a second. A rainy Saturday session meant that the time could not be beaten, and our man lined up right at the front for the grid. Going into the final laps, Team E-Lites Kawasaki led the way by a fraction of a second in front of rival Jordan Simpkin. It was a straight fight between the pair of them, everybody was transfixed on the final stages; going into the last two corners, both riders hit each other and went off the track, and Tim rolled past the line in second place. Tension died down for a second, but rose again when the stewards revealed they were investigating the last-corner incident. The stewards decided Simpkin had cut the corner, awarded a penalty, and promoted our man Tim to victory. He jubilantly clutched his trophy and gave Team E-Lites Kawasaki our first ever pole position and race win
Not forgetting our BSB rider Pete Hickman, who despite limited testing time is improving. He followed up a 13th and 12th in Brands Hatch with an 11th and 10th in Thruxton, and is getting quicker all the time finishing races and scoring points consistantly.
