Now that we are right in the middle of the late market a lot of resorts are becoming full but some of the Greek islands still have a lot of capacity so we thought we would give you some insight some of the lesser known ones and show you why they are not to be overshadowed by those more popular islands.
Greece is one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations attracting over 13 million tourists a year and boasts miles of sandy beaches, scattered caves, an array of culture to explore and not to mention great food and wine.
Although the well-known islands receive millions of tourists a year, the lesser known islands not so much so we want to show you what they have to offer and why you should finally check them out.

Kefalonia
Kefalonia is the largest of the three Inonian islands in Western Greece and is a perfect destination for those looking for dramatic scenery, stunning beaches and great wine.
Kefalonia is home to Myrtos beach which is said to be one of the best in the whole of Greece, and it’s not hard to see why! As well as this, it is also home to its very own hidden treasure, Melissani cave, an attraction that is not to be missed.
Skiathos
Skiathos is a small picturesque island located in the Aegean Sea and is described as paradise on earth. Though the island has become slowly more popular over the years, the beaches and attractions remain unspoilt.
Nightlife in Skiathos is second to none, the pedestrianised street by the Old Harbour boasts an array of bars and clubs to keep those party goers on their feet until the early hours of the morning.
Halkidiki
Halkidiki is a peninsula off the Greek mainland, and a great destination for those seeking sun and beaches in a less tourist part of Greece, which also has the benefit of being unspoilt.
Halkidiki is perfect for families or couples as it offers nightlife to suit everyone’s needs, with a multitude of traditional tavernas, restaurants, bars and even clubs.
Lesbos
The third biggest island in Greece which has remained practically untouched, the beaches are unspoilt and there’s peace and tranquillity to be found.
As well as stunning beaches in this Emerald Island you will also be able to explore the historic towns, charming villages and various landscapes.
Preveza
Preveza is the capital city of Prefecture and combines beautiful beaches, exciting nightlife and tonnes of history, a real treat for those who truly appreciate nature. Preveza offers so much to see and do throughout your stay including Venetian castles and Kiani Akti beach.
