Pouilly-Fuisse ’Aux Scelles’, Marcel Couturier
This is one of the finest Pouilly-Fuissés I remember tasting. It is the purity and depth that just bowls me over. The youthful colour, greeny gold (almost Grand Cru Chablis like), the nose is a little closed but quite zesty, minerally – no new oak. Intense, lovely focused creamy mouthfeel, good acidity – full of life. The finish is balanced and long. Fabulous!

Pouilly-Loche Vieilles Vignes, Marcel Couturier
From 85 year-old vines. Hints of grassiness on the nose, minerally, ripe stone fruits. Good weight in the palate, creamy, ripe orchard fruits; good acidity. Medium-long, balanced finish. Excellent food wine; good roast chicken for example.
