A BBQ rose if ever there were. Dark pink. Red berries, quite perfumed, medium weight, ripe berried fruit in the mouth with hints of tannin, good acidity - finishes dry and crisp.

A true crossover of New and Old World Sauvignon styles: Pale, gold, green, with a nose reminiscent of a toned down Marlborough SB, blackcurrants, hints of lime also. Quite high-toned exotic fruits in the mouth, vibrant acidity almost Sancerre-like.

Best of Burgundy A
Pouilly-Fuisse Aux Scelles, Marcel Couturier
This is one of the finest Pouilly-Fuisse I remember tasting. It is the purity and depth that just bowls me over. The youthful colour, greeny gold (almost Grand Cru Chablis like), the nose is a little closed but quite zesty, minerally - no new oak.
Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits
Pound for pound this is by far the best Burgundy that I have come across this year. Lovely, clean, ripe fruit - redcurrants and red berries, fine tannins and beautifully balanced, it has a genuine Cote dOr character to it.
