Irish Ferries Holidays has a new package for self-drive three-night breaks for just £189 per person, including four-star hotel accommodation, with breakfast each day and a free dinner on one night.
The Carlton Abbey Hotel in County Kildare was once a convent, the abbey buildings being carefully restored to create a stylish hotel that combines 19th century ecclesiastical features with contemporary comforts.
The £189 per person price is based on two people travelling by car, sharing a double/twin room for any three nights between 1 November and 16 December.
The break includes 'the full Irish' breakfast each morning and on one night of the break, a free three-course dinner in the hotel's Abbey Bar and Bistro in the former Church.
The package also includes return cruise-ferry travel from Holyhead to Dublin on the luxurious Ulysses, or Pembroke to Rosslare on the Isle of Inishmore.
Ferry travel pleasures include 30 minute check-in times, no baggage charges and civilised journeys – just three hours and 15 minutes on Ulysses – during which travellers can relax, watch a film, enjoy a meal or admire the view.
Children under 12 years sharing their parents' room stay free – including breakfast each morning – and travel free too. They also enjoy a complimentary dinner.
Extra nights can be added to the basic three-night break for just £49 per person per night.
