Whispering Angel, Château d'Esclans 2017
(IN BOND)
“Perhaps a little more forward than the dramatic 2016, and yet more succulent, too, I can tell you that in the last few days of 2017, this wine is already drinking beautifully. Only three months after harvest, Whispering Angel is casting its spell with unerring accuracy and it will continue to shine in the glass and impress all-comers throughout 2018.”
"I sense that Garrus will, one day, be mentioned in the same breath as wines like La Tâche, Latour, Vieilles Vignes Françaises and Le Montrachet. I don’t know when that might be but in the meantime I will be serving this rosé at the same table as these other great wines in the knowledge that it has finally lived up to its promise."20/20 Points, Matthew Jukes
"A superb rosé with sliced apple, peach and light cream aromas. Full, so deep and intense. So long and beautiful. I am speechless. A benchmark for rosé."97 Points, James Suckling

An incredible offer - for every case purchased, get the 12th bottle free and save a further £12per case today on this exquisite wine made by the wine making team at Haut-Brion, leading to a total saving of £27.95 per case.
Clarendelle Rouge 2012 is superb Claret from the Haut-Brion stable which includes Haut-Brion, La Mission Haut-Brion and most recently Quintus. With its magnificent pedigree this is Claret of the highest quality at a very affordable price which is drinking beautifully.
'Finally, the 2012 Clarendelle Bordeaux Rouge which boasts the same immaculate provenance as its sibling above. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from a great vintage, drawn from the vineyards of Châteaux Haut-Brion, La Mission Haut-Brion and Quintus, it’s absolutely à point, being mouth-fillingly rich, ripe and concentrated. It’s full-flavoured and forward and, with only 45 cases available at FromVineyardsDirect.com, in seriously short supply.'
Kevin Grant (ex Hamilton Russell) has established himself as one of South Africa’s foremost winemakers and his stunning Walker Bay vineyards, ‘Ataraxia’, make some of the Country’s top wines – indeed his Chardonnay 2015 which has just been released has been judged by Decanter Magazine as ‘Outstanding’ and South Africa's best chardonnay with 96/100 – on a par with the best white burgundies but at a very much more affordable price. Our allocation though is only 20 cases.
Kevin's Sauvignon Blanc is the best we have ever tasted from South Africa – wonderfully dry and crisp – and his Pinot Noirwould be £20+ a bottle more if it came from Burgundy.
Treat yourself to some of South Africa’s top wines before the Budget on Wednesday….
This is an expression of the low vigour, stony, clay-rich Bokkeveld Shale derived soils and the heavily maritime-influenced climate. This is a chiselled and precise win which is just delicious.
A unique Sauvignon Blanc with wonderful fresh minerality and pure pungent fruit – citrus, passion fruit & green melon flavours. One of the very best (if not the best) Sauvignon Blancs from the Cape.
This beautifully balanced oaked Pinot Noir is made from grapes which are arguably the most suited of any variety to express terroir and sense of place. Made with care and precision, a very high-quality New World Pinot Noir, that is more than a match anything from Burgundy.

François and Vincent Bitouzet truly are perfectionists.
An outstanding Premier Cru from this very fine appellation in
the Côte de Nuits, the wine is beautifully sophisticated with delicious
juicy raspberry flavours. Very serious wine indeed and only tiny quantities

"From a fine 3rd Growth estate...It's still robust, but its ripe damson, cherry and plum fruit has come to the fore and it's heading to its prime. A veritable love heart of a wine."

"Ausone’s Alain Vauthier took control of the vinification, and in the 2009 vintage, it shows."
"....this is still a wonderfully exuberant, fruity, spicy St.-Emilion with loads of kirsch and black currant, some loamy soil notes and subtle herbs. It is medium-bodied, graceful, fresh and best drunk over the next 7-9 years."
Château Vieux Maillet's first-class wine making facilities, coupled with the finest management techniques and a real know-how, help to produce some of the finest wines of its appellation.
Shows lovely crushed raspberry, cherry and plum fruit, with silky tannins and a perfumy finish. Very silky, with deceptive length.
"Christophe Pichon has fashioned a beautiful 2014 Condrieu that offers classy notes of white peach, lychee nut and crisp apricot in a medium-bodied, supple, balanced style that you can’t go wrong with. Aged 12 months in equal parts tank and barrel, drink it anytime over the coming 3-4 years."
Château Mondain is exquisite and a bargain at under £10. Château Senilhac is 'quintessential claret - soft, smooth and sophisticated' and our declassified Graves Rougeis a true testimony to its vintage and provenance.
"It’s a great example of the commune, being earthy, spicy, concentrated and robust. It is also deeply pukka, coming as it does from the estate of winemaker extraordinaire" Jonathan Ray, The Spectator
We are immensely proud of our declassified range - wines from some of Bordeaux’s greatest Chateaux (including three from 1st growths) at a fraction of the price. Christmas drinking comes no better than this with these fabulous wines.
"From a stellar estate, it is comprised almost entirely of Merlot and is velvety soft and supple. But there's character and weight to the wine too and buckets of ripe, juicy fruit. It's a wine with both grace and power, something I would liken to a beautiful, galloping white horse."
"Marvellously complex 2012 Sauternes, from the region's most famous property of all. It might not boast the profound flavours of the grand vin, but at this price it's an absolute corker. Sadly, this will be the last such parcel from this beyond-illustrious estate, since henceforward they will be putting all their surplus into a second label wine (which will retail for many times this modest price)."
"This is everything that a fine, classically structured claret should be. From one of St. Julien's finest 'Super Seconds', well known for the beautiful pebbles found in its soil, it has an impeccable pedigree and is full of ripe dark fruit, hints of tobacco, leather and spice. Decant it and ask your guests to guess the provenance and price."
"Wonderfully stylish and accessible, this is from one of Pauillac’s most famous estates (and about a twentieth of the price of its grand vin). Like a faun, it tantalises ethereally. "
"A gloriously, precociously, mouth-filling approachable charmer, a smooth, succulent blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Sichel Family, famous for its association with Château Angludet and palmer."
"From a fine 3rd Growth estate...It's still robust, but its ripe damson, cherry and plum fruit has come to the fore and it's heading to its prime. A veritable love heart of a wine."

A delicious blend of Sangiovese with Merlot, Cabernet & Syrah bringing together the best of Italy and France . A fresh, fruit driven wine that is made to be drunk over the next 2-3 years.Great value.
This is an excellent easy drinking Cabernet-Merlot blend from one of Gascony’s best vineyards that we have secured for you. A good everyday red with a convenient screwcap and terrific value.

"The search for an above average house Claret is over. For the price this wine really excites. It has everything one looks for in decent red Bordeaux: notes of pencil shavings, cedar wood and ripe berries - a must for every Sunday roast."

The wine is superb - it's dominant Merlot blend means that it is extremely approachable now and will provide wonderful drinking for at least another 5-7 years.
We took 15 of our wines to The Wine Show in Chelsea last weekend and the wine showed extremely well and was certainly one of the stars of the show.
We suggest you order quickly before our final stocks run out...
"Full of silky smooth elegance and élan and, as befits a wine from Pauillac’s greatest First Growth (whose Grand Vin sells for almost £400 a bottle), it has a glorious future ahead of it." - Jonathan Ray, The Spectator (on the 2012)

"The superficial shorthand for the 2012 vintage is that it is a Merlot year..." - Jancis Robinson

We have managed to secure a modest allocation of the 2015 vintage of the Languedoc’s greatest red wine, Mas de Daumas Gassac. 2015 was not only an exceptional year it was also the last wine that its famous founder Aimé Guibert was alive to oversee. At only £19.95 a bottle (in bond) and 30% below its release price next Spring it is irresistible and comes in bottles, magnums & double magnums - all in original wooden cases.
We have also been offered a small quantity of their rather special and unique Mas de Daumas Gassac White 2016 that they are making as we speak - in bottles and magnums which also come in original wooden cases.
The Guibert family believe the wine follows in the footsteps of two of their greatest years 1978 & 2000 (now very rare & serious collectors wines). In their words with some emotion...‘this vintage is majestic, with deliciously complex fruit and great body….thank you and bon voyage Aimé Guibert.'
This superb wine ranks alongside many of Bordeaux' better classified growths and is only £239.40 a case (£19.95 a bottle) in bond will be delivered in the Spring of 2017 when the family will put any remaining stocks on the market at 30% above the current price. It therefore makes a lot of sense to buy a few cases now of what will surely become a very high class and rare collectors wine.
An eclectic blend of Viognier, Chardonnay and 16 other grape varieties - it is delicious complex wine of the highest quality and is a worthy partner to the Guibert Family's more famous red.
Walk into most merchants or have a look online, Whispering Angel tends to be sold from £16-£25 a bottle, it is one of the best-selling rosés worldwide and with incredible critical acclaim.

We have managed to secure a small parcel of St Julien 2011 from the same Château as our St Julien 2010 - the most highly rated 2nd growth (a ’super second') in this iconic appellation. The wine is fresh with wonderful ripe fruit flavours and is drinking well already - indeed for those of you who bought our St Julien 2010 we advise drinking the 2011 before the 2010.
An excellent Cabernet Franc - Merlot rosé from Château de Fayolle in Bergerac. The Chateau makes some of the very best wines in the appellation. Very good value, dry, zesty rosé.
"It’s a lovely pale salmon pink and full of wonderfully fresh wild strawberry fruit. It’s fruity yet dry, with a surprisingly firm backbone and a luscious edge too....vibrantly refreshing, ideal for impromptu picnics or drinks on the lawn." Jonathan Ray - The Spectator
