Danny Boyle's opening ceremony really was the best of British. From the much discussed Daniel Craig and Her Majesty’s Bond sketch, to Mary Poppins shooing away Lord Voldemort, Boyle brought his grand vision to life, exploring the diversity, culture and youth of Britain today. Despite the awkward moments where we had to look up some of the competing countries to see exactly where in the world they are, it was a stunning introduction to the Olympics and a celebration to be proud of.

Speaking of proud…congratulations are in order for Encephalitis Ambassador Rebecca Adlington, who took home the bronze medal in yesterday's Olympic 400m freestyle. Alongside cyclist Lizzie Armistead, she helped start the list of medals for Team GB. Check out all our advertiser’s current Olympic promotions live on TheHub now.
