Publisher News

Good ole fashioned razzle-dazzle won out at the Oscars last night, with silent movie The Artist proving victorious in five categories, including Best Picture, Actor In a Leading Role and Directing. Billy Crystal hosted the glamorous ceremony, which also saw Meryl Streep walk away with her third Academy Award, and veteran star Christopher Plummer pick up his first at 82, making him the oldest Oscar winner to date. See all of the winners and watch their acceptance speeches on the official 84th Academy Awards website. To help our publishers target everyone looking to enjoy Oscars magic on the small screen, we have put together a list of nominated and winning films available to buy and pre-order from our advertisers, complete with tracking deeplinks. Closer to home, but with fewer Hollywood A-list attendees, Econsultancy also hosted an awards ceremony last week for their Innovation Awards. Among the delighted winners for their achievements in digital but outside affiliate marketing, were Majestic Wines, Marks & Spencer, Tesco and Kiddicare.com. Within performance marketing, however, it was Debenhams, alongside Affiliate Window, who were recognised for their innovative multichannel campaign. Watch a video of highlights from the night on the Econsultancy blog, or find out what it means for a brand to win an award like this in our own blog post.

As London Fashion Week drew to a close last week, we continued the trend of reporting on the world of style, with blogs about how highstreet brands, like Zalando, are influenced by the catwalk, and a report from the Topman Design AW12 show itself. For Affiliate Window and buy.at, all of this buzz is leading up to Fashion Focus, our own fashion sector evening, which will be held this Thursday. With the event now at full capacity, we look forward to welcoming our advertiser and publisher attendees to the 5* Grange Tower Bridge Hotel later in the week.

In the performance marketing world, progress is measured in many ways, but, arguably, none is more important than incrementality. As part of our commitment to increasing transparency and the amount of detailed information available about programme optimisation, Affiliate Window has put together a white paper on the pivotal topic of incrementality. This white paper is primarily aimed at advertisers, but is an interesting read for anyone who wants to be a leader in this industry. A sample of the white paper is available via Affiliates4U, but the full report can be requested directly from our strategy team: Strategy@affiliatewindow.com.

Finally, make sure you have March 18th circled in your diary, as that is Mothering Sunday, and it is fast approaching! For all publishers who will be promoting Mother’s Day offers, we have created a category for all of this information in TheHub. Click here to view it, and click here for an RSS feed of the content.

Until next time,
