We all want more insight into our industry and the IAB’s second Online Performance Study which was released last week certainly achieved that. This week we cast an eye on the growth of mobile and in particular, mobile performance over Christmas and New Year. It’s worth noting mobile traffic across the network peaked at 39.35% of traffic on Boxing Day with 17.6% originating from smartphones. This was slightly higher than Christmas Day, which saw 37.3% of traffic generated through a mobile device with 17.2% through smartphones. On New Year’s Day, 39% of traffic originated from a mobile device coupled with 32.8% of sales. The full breakdown of December’s statistics can be found here.

You may already have your finger on that mobile device, scrolling away to find the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your loved one. Get your head out of that Hallmark cloud for a moment and get your game face on as we have one hell of a caption contest for you to take part in. This Valentine’s Day, we will be releasing a variety of ambiguous photos and it is your job to come up with the most accurate, hilarious, silly or simply romantic caption you can think of (no naughty or distasteful entries please, this is a family network). Keep an eye on our Facebook page, but in the meantime get cracking and caption our first image today. Good luck!

Ever notice how the years whizz by? Case evidenced by the fact that we’re already in the last week of January. Time flies when you’re disorganised, but that needn’t be the case in 2014 as we’ve released our annual season calendar to keep you up to date with all the latest events, promotions, publisher incentives and conferences. No doubt we’ll be receiving a thank you note from your diary, but in the meantime – learn more and download the calendar here.

Finally, as we look to the new opportunities 2014 presents, it’s worth taking stock of the achievements of the past year. Last week PerformanceIN announced that nominations for the Industry Choice of Partner at the 2014 Performance Marketing Awards are now open giving us the chance to highlight some of the steps we’ve taken across the last 12 months to improve our service levels, introduce new tools and technologies and ensure our clients and partners are maximising the opportunities available to them.

Until next time,
