Publisher News

Wasn’t that a refreshing long weekend? We hope you all enjoyed it. Here at Affiliate Window, we did a lot of relaxing but also balanced this out with a bit of DIY as no Bank Holiday is complete without getting stuck into a bit of ‘Do It Yourself’. The next long weekend is not too far away and so why not check out our Bank Holiday Showcase for some inspiration on how best to make the most of days off; additionally why not treat yourself to a short break? Get yourself in the mood as Jet2Holidays answer our questions in this week’s Merchant Profile.

We have some exciting updates from our sister network zanox who have introduced a shared tracking solution. Through this new system, zanox publishers will benefit from tracking leads and sales in real time.  The system allows for banners to be put under the performance spotlight; if the conversion rates are not what is expected then the publisher is able to move onto another strategy. Simon Holland from the A4U has put together an article detailing what this means for publishers and advertisers alike. Read it live on the A4U here.

And the countdown continues…there are only a mere 23 days until the greatest sporting event known to man takes place. That’s right, Supergames 2012 is nearly upon us! If you’re feeling lucky and going for gold we still have 4 team spaces left to be filled out of a total of 20..so get involved! Click here to read some of our competing teams Team Profiles - all that fighting talk is bound get you in the mood.  Speaking of countdowns, there is only one week before the Performance Marketing Awards at the glamorous Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane.  Affiliate Window is delighted to have been shortlisted for nine awards ourselves and proud to be in partnership with our 13 advertisers who have also been shortlisted.  Be sure to follow @pm_awards to find out the latest on the awards, how to win prizes and for updates on all the winners on the actual evening.

This week’s Partnerships Tips covers the Mobile initiative and asks “How can we all go So-Lo-Mo?”  Word on the street is Mobile. With the rise of the Smartphone, mobile marketing is huge and is predicted to exceed desktop access in the near future. As consumer shopping habits are constantly evolving, mobile technologies are indeed the way forward. Check out Chris Said’s Partnerships Tips below and learn more about why the Social, Local, Mobile initiative is kind of a big deal.

Mobile is something that we have been closely monitoring here at Affiliate Window. With 7% of network sales currently happening through a mobile or tablet, the importance of optimising for mobile is more transparent than ever. Today marks the release of a number of platform improvements designed to highlight the opportunities within this sector, including device reporting and the ability to search for advertisers who pay commissions on sales through mobile sites. Check out our blog post for more information.

Until next time,
