Last week, the good and great of Affiliate Marketing gathered together for a full assembly of the IAB’s AMC. On the agenda was an update on the hot topic of ePrivacy from the legislative committee of the council, as well as look at the work of the council across 2012. The roadmap laid out by acting council chair Clare O’Brien will see a focus on educational work through case studies, research and training. Click here to see the full presentation from the meeting. Our sister network zanox runs regular events for knowledge sharing within the industry across Europe. Last week saw one such Expert Day hosted in Berlin. As part of the proceedings a4u’s Founder Matthew Wood and Head of Content Chris Johnson were invited to deliver a keynote speech on the development of the UK Performance industry. Based on this presentation they have put together an article about the important trends up to 2012 and beyond. Among their predictions for important areas over next three years are revolutions in the way we pay for purchases and the integration of offline channels. Click here to read the full article.

On our own blog this week, we were looking at the issue of increased complexity within the industry. With contributions from savvy shopping site Savoo, product comparison portal recombu and price comparison solution InvisibleHand, we investigated the growth in publisher partnerships and asked how this trend benefits everyone involved in the industry.
